Traditional Products
Wising to keep unique flavours and to maintain links with traditional home-made fruit and vegetable preserves a new series of products has been created. Old, proven recipes of housewives living in the villages of the Łowicz region form the basis for the recipes of those products. At the same time the traditional production methods have been preserved although modern production machines are employed. The products already available for sale are:
- Łowicz style beetroot salad and horseradish – a combination of boiled, sweet, very finely grated beetroot with spicy grated horseradish and sensible aroma of pickle
- Łowicz style cucumbers in brine – nicely shaped, crunchy, with a distinct salty flavour enhanced by aroma of dill, garlic and horseradish
- Łowicz style pickled cucumbers – small, firm, in mild aromatic pickle
- Łowicz style cucumber puree – made of finely grated Łowicz style cucumbers in brine
- Łowicz style pickled sorrel
- Łowicki plum butter – a combination of mild flesh plums and distinctly sensible skins and sugar, forming a sweet composition of pleasant sourish aroma
- Łowicz style cherries in syrup – containing exquisitely juicy, fragrant and sweet cherries
All those products have been entered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Traditional Products List (see the certificates). Moreover, five of them may be accompanied by a conformity certificate in the programme “Quality Tradition” (see the certificates).
The products make an ideal composition combining old flavours and aromas
and modern high quality production.
Due to carefully selected fruit and vegetables brought from the
neighbouring farmers and rich flavouring we obtain top quality preserves.
A distinct style and aesthetics of packages reflecting strong links with
our region make that the products are easily identifiable, and when consuming
them we are moved to the world of former gustatory experiences of Łowicz.
